Inspired by the architectural movement of Metabolism, SY-STEM is a modular system for constructing plant pots of any dimension and permutation. Conventional plant pots are static and solitary, which goes against the natural order of expansive root growth and interconnectivity. Why shouldn’t a pot be able to evolve with the plant, or enable exchange between other plants?

Every SY-STEM module is designed to connect to one another, forming structures that can grow over time and connect to other units, with features that also aid in long-term plant care.
Chamfers at the bottom corners of every wall module allow excess water to easily drain out, preventing root rot, no matter the configuration.
Undercuts given to the bottom and side edges allow the drained water to pool on the exterior lips, preventing drained water from spilling onto the surfaces supporting the pots.
In line with Metabolist Principles, SY-STEM is designed to encourage biodiversity and growth amongst its inhabitants.
In many urban contexts, nature is often domesticated and caged in, an allegory for humanity's domination over plant life. SY-STEM seeks to encourage curiosity towards a more connected and expansive form of nature.
If mycelium is innoculated into these pots, and the plants are grouped appropriately, a mychorrizal relationship can be made, enabling different species to "talk" and help one another. In this way, SY-STEM reinterprets plant pots not as a room, but a house.
